Prior to the January 2002 NAMM show, there was much anticipation at the imminent return of the Charvel brand name. While Charvel guitars and the brand name returned, those guitars displayed lacked credibility, since they were not USA-made and furthermore did not share the profile of the original Charvel guitars. Once again the Charvel brand name was resurrected by Jackson as an imported instrument. The 2002 Limited Edition GX Bullseye Charvel was pursued as a way to capture the vibe and feel of the original Charvel. The limited run was to be made in the USA at the Jackson custom shop and the specifications were to remain extremely close to the originals.
