My first Charvel ever and I purchased her from a store I found online for $625 shipped. As you know I prefer the feel and consistency of a Jackson style (pointy) neck and to find one with a graphic was the start of my addiction. Fast forward a few years and one quickly finds that the demand for these simple rockers has really inflated their prices. You don't see them sell for $600 anymore (unless you are real lucky) and it will be interesting to see what the future holds. This graphic is one of the most common graphics found on Charvels and in fact I have 5 Charvels bearing the Rising sun graphic in my collection. I know, overkill to some but I love them all and each has subtle differences like the position of the center of the sun, the location of the Japanese characters, some have no Japanese characters, etc. To get a feel for the little subtleties found in the Rising Sun graphic compare Charvels 1993, 3912, 3916 and 5146 to see what I mean. Each is slightly different and individual. In my opinion this graphic and the animal prints defined 80's Heavy Metal. Neck pocket markings include the work order (invoice) number 1892, 6 (or G??), "21/4" (I assume to indicate the width of pocket which is 2 ¼ inches) and the builder initials "EV". Written on the neck are the work order (invoice) number 1892, "OBD" (found on all Jackson style (pointy) necks that do not have a painted headstock) and the initials "MJ". This guitar has the most common Charvel layout with a single pickup, single volume, cool graphic and a locking tremolo (Kahler). What more do you need other than an amp that goes to 11!! This guitar has serial number 3522 and matches the factory log at Jackson however the work order was not found.
