This is what Phil Collen should have played if he played a Charvel instead of an Ibanez Destroyer back in the day!! The guitar is obviously modeled after the Ibanez Phil played sporting a cool bound body and neck with 3 crème Dimarizo pickups. This guitar has serial number 3419 and is not only super clean but sounds AWESOME. In fact I had chased this guitar for 2 years before being finally lucky enough to acquire her. Some cool features include a painted neck, bound body and neck and the classic look of black with gold hardware.

Written in the neck pocket you find the work order (invoice) number 1791 and the letter "P" both written in pencil and the commonly found date and workers initials "4-24" and "NL" written in black marker. If you look at the neck you can see that it has the two extra holes from where the paint stick (used as a handle to hold the neck during the painting and drying process) was attached. The work order (invoice) number 1791 is barely visible on the neck, written in the area where the paint appears to be scratched off.

Interesting side note, the neck (screw hole pattern and paint characteristics including the small area that appears to be scratched off) looks almost identical to that on #1176 (also a painted neck Explorer).

She's a looker for sure and was ordered by Sam Ash in Hempstead, NY on 2-20-84. Written on the work order are many details including "3 hum", "Gold Kahler", "All Gold Parts" and specifies crème colored pickups and binding. If you look at the bottom of the work order it even specifies "Gold Tuners" which is very uncommon compared to the black non logo'd Gotohs.
